We are a family of three:
Me: Becky; middled aged and young at heart
Husband: Saign; middler-aged and younger at heart
Child: L; Elementary-aged and the best ever heart
Saign and I met on an online dating site. It was very romantic. Actually, he sent me a message that was so generic that it was obvious that he had sent it out to many women. I gave him a chance anyway just because he was a snowboarder. My first ever interaction with him was me calling him out on how obvious it was that he had taken no time or care in his message and that he had obviously sent the same “lame generic email” to many women. He was smitten.
Our first ever date was snowboarding. To this day, he still claims that I tricked him because I was a good snowboarder on that date and I’m not a good snowboarder in real life. (In reality, I’m a good snowboarder on groomed runs that I’m familiar with and we were at Bear Mountain where all the runs are groomed and I had a season pass…) He’s still disappointed in my snowboarding abilities.
We both believe in working hard and playing hard, and that’s how we’ve lived our life together. We’ve got a wonderful kid who we’ve brought along on all our adventures.
